Programs
A range of
Specialised rehabilitation programs for people whose driving has been affected by an accident, an injury, trauma, anxiety or a medical condition. Every program is delivered by our team and paced to suit your recovery.
How the programs fit together
One pathway, five stages
Our programs are the stages of a rehabilitation pathway, and most clients move through more than one of them.
Where you begin depends on what is holding you back:
- Panic, fear or avoidance: begin with psychological support and exposure therapy
- Physical injury, pain or a medical condition: begin with an occupational therapy driver assessment
- Confidence is largely intact, but you must evidence your capacity for work: the defensive driver course may be enough
We work this out with you at your assessment, before you commit to anything.
The pathway
From first contact to independent driving
- 1
Psychological support
Assessment and individual therapy with a registered psychologist for anxiety, trauma, PTSD and post-accident adjustment. Available in person, by Telehealth or Zoom, and available on its own.
- 2
Exposure therapy
Graded exposure that rebuilds your tolerance step by step, including AI-assisted real-world exposure work for clients who have avoided driving for a long time.
- 3
OT driver assessment
Occupational therapy assessment of your physical, cognitive and functional capacity to drive safely. You receive clear findings and recommendations.
- 4
Graded driver rehabilitation
Progressive on-road rehabilitation on the roads you actually drive, at a pace that suits your recovery.
- 5
Defensive driver course
The final stage. Hazard perception, risk anticipation and defensive skills that keep your progress lasting and support a return to work driving.

Funding
How programs are paid for
Programs are funded privately or through an insurance pathway. We work regularly with CTP (Compulsory Third Party) claims, WorkCover and workers compensation, case managers and rehabilitation consultants, and GP and allied health referrals.
If you were injured in a motor vehicle accident in NSW, treatment may be covered by CTP even if you were not at fault and even if you have not yet lodged a claim. Many people do not realise this. Call 1800 867 277 and we will explain how it works.
Not sure where to start?
Most people who call us are not sure either. Tell us what happened and what you are finding difficult, and we will suggest the right place to start. There is no obligation.
