Assessment, treatment and reporting for CTP and workers compensation claims

For insurers

Safe2Go has worked with CTP and workers compensation claims for over 15 years. We provide functional assessment, graded rehabilitation and psychological treatment, with reporting written for the decisions you actually have to make.

The problem we solve

When driving is the barrier to closing a claim

Driving capacity sits underneath a large number of claims that appear to be about something else. A claimant cannot return to work because they cannot get there. Independence has not recovered because the car has not been used since the accident. Physical injuries have resolved on paper, but function has not returned.

Standard treatment pathways often do not address this directly. Physiotherapy restores movement. Psychology may address trauma in a consulting room. Neither necessarily puts the person back behind the wheel, which is frequently the specific functional outcome the claim rests on.

Safe2Go exists to close that gap. We assess driving capacity as a functional question, identify what is actually preventing it — physical, cognitive, psychological or a combination — and deliver a graded program to address it.

What we deliver

Services for CTP and WorkCover claims

OT driver assessment

Occupational therapy assessment of physical, cognitive and functional capacity to drive safely, with clear findings and recommendations.

Psychological assessment and treatment

Registered psychologist assessment and individual therapy for PTSD, driving phobia, anxiety and post-accident adjustment.

Graded on-road rehabilitation

Progressive, structured rehabilitation delivered in the real driving environment, paced to the claimant's presentation.

Return-to-work driving capacity

Assessment and rehabilitation where occupational driving is a requirement of the role being returned to.

Ergonomic and vehicle assessment

Driver ergonomics assessment where seating, posture or vehicle setup is contributing to pain or restricted capacity.

Reporting

Written reports at assessment, at agreed review points and at discharge, documenting functional change against baseline.

How we report

Reporting built for claims management

We understand that a report which does not answer the question is worse than no report at all. Ours are written to be usable.

  • Baseline function is stated explicitly, so subsequent change is measurable rather than asserted.
  • Barriers are separated by type — physical, cognitive, psychological, practical — because the treatment implications differ.
  • Recommendations are specific and costed, including expected number of sessions and review points.
  • Progress reports arrive at the agreed intervals, without needing to be chased.
  • Discharge summaries document functional outcomes, not just attendance.

Where a claimant is not progressing, we say so early. We would rather tell you at review four than at session twenty.

Process

From referral to outcome

  1. 1

    Referral

Send the referral by email or phone with the claim details and any relevant medical or allied health reports.

  2. 2

    Acknowledgement and triage

We acknowledge receipt, confirm the funding arrangement, and contact the claimant to arrange assessment.

  3. 3

    Assessment and report

Formal assessment establishing baseline capacity and barriers, followed by a written report with recommendations and estimated program length.

  4. 4

    Approved program

On approval, treatment proceeds as scoped, with progress reporting at the agreed intervals.

  5. 5

    Discharge

Discharge summary documenting functional outcomes achieved against the original baseline.

Coverage

Where we operate

Our head office is in the Sydney CBD, and our rehabilitation driver trainers and occupational therapists travel to the client across most of NSW. Assessment and rehabilitation take place in the claimant's own driving environment wherever possible, which produces a more accurate picture of function than a clinic-based assessment can.

Psychological services are additionally available by Telehealth and Zoom, which is often the difference between a regional claimant engaging with treatment and disengaging from it.

FAQs

Commonly Asked Questions

1. Is Safe2Go a driving school?

No. Safe2Go is not a driving school — we are a specialised rehabilitation service. Our team includes a registered psychologist, occupational therapists and rehabilitation driver trainers who work together to help people return to driving after accident, injury, trauma or a medical condition. We do not teach learner drivers to pass a test.

2. What experience do you have?

Safe2Go has over 15 years of experience supporting people living with driving phobia, driving anxiety, PTSD, GAD and adjustment disorder. If we had to summarise our program in one word, it would be freedom.

3. Do you offer psychological services?

Yes. Psychological support is a core part of what we do, and it is available on its own — you do not have to be enrolled in a driving program to see our psychologist. We provide individual therapy for anxiety, trauma, PTSD and post-accident adjustment, available in person, by Telehealth or over Zoom.

4. Do you accept CTP and WorkCover clients?

Yes. We regularly work with:

  • CTP (Compulsory Third Party) insurers and claimants
  • WorkCover and workers compensation matters
  • Case managers and rehabilitation consultants
  • GP, psychologist and allied health referrers
5. What's next?
  • Call 1800 867 277 or send an enquiry and we'll talk through where you're at
  • We match you to the right starting point — psychological support, an OT driver assessment, or graded on-road rehabilitation
