Referrals
Pathways for injured people, insurers, case managers and health professionals
Referrals
Safe2Go accepts referrals from insurers, case managers, treating practitioners and directly from clients themselves. Choose the pathway that matches your situation — each one explains what we need, what we provide, and how quickly we can start.
Choose your pathway
Four ways to refer

Injured People & Private Clients
You have been in an accident, or driving has become difficult, and you want to speak to someone directly. No referral needed.

CTP & WorkCover Insurers
Assessment, treatment and reporting for Compulsory Third Party and workers compensation claims, with clear functional outcomes.

Case Managers & Rehabilitation Consultants
A driver rehabilitation provider that works inside your existing plan, reports on time, and communicates without chasing.

GPs & Allied Health Referrers
For patients whose recovery has stalled around driving, anxiety or post-accident adjustment. Psychological services available independently.
What we are
A specialised rehabilitation service
Safe2Go is not a driving school. We are a specialised rehabilitation service.
This distinction matters when you are deciding where to send someone. A driving school teaches a person to operate a vehicle and pass a test. We work with people who already hold a licence, or held one until something happened, and who now face physical, cognitive, psychological or functional barriers to driving safely.
Our team is multidisciplinary by design — a registered psychologist, occupational therapists and rehabilitation driver trainers working from a single plan. That means a referral to Safe2Go does not have to be routed to the right discipline first. We assess, we identify the actual barrier, and we bring in the right people.
We have worked this way for over 15 years, with clients whose driving capacity has been affected by motor vehicle accidents, workplace injury, trauma, anxiety, PTSD, medical conditions and age-related change.
The pathway
How a referral progresses
- 1
Referral received
Send us the details by phone, email or the enquiry form. We acknowledge every referral and tell you what, if anything, is still needed.
- 2
Intake and triage
We speak with the client, confirm the claim or funding context, and identify the most appropriate starting point — psychological, occupational therapy, or on-road.
- 3
Assessment
A formal assessment establishing baseline function and the specific barriers involved. You receive a written report with findings and recommendations.
- 4
Treatment and rehabilitation
A graded program combining psychological support, exposure therapy and on-road rehabilitation as required, with progress reviewed throughout.
- 5
Reporting and discharge
Regular progress reporting in the format you need, and a discharge summary documenting functional outcomes achieved.
What we provide
Services available on referral
Psychological support
Assessment and individual therapy for anxiety, trauma, PTSD and post-accident adjustment, in person or by Telehealth.
Exposure therapy
Structured, graded exposure for driving phobia and avoidance, including AI-assisted real-world exposure work.
OT driver assessment
Occupational therapy driver assessment covering physical, cognitive and functional capacity to drive safely.
Graded driver rehabilitation
Progressive on-road rehabilitation paced to the client's presentation and recovery, not to a test date.
Defensive driver course
Advanced hazard perception and defensive skills, appropriate for return-to-work and occupational driving requirements.
Ergonomic assessment
Driver ergonomics and employee assessment services for workplace and occupational driving contexts.
Funding streams
How treatment is funded
- CTP (Compulsory Third Party) claims — assessment and treatment following a motor vehicle accident in NSW
- WorkCover and workers compensation — where a workplace injury has affected driving capacity or psychological function
- Case managers and rehabilitation consultants — as a provider within an existing rehabilitation plan
- GP, psychologist and allied health referrals — for patients requiring specialised driver rehabilitation or psychological support
- Private and self-funded clients — no referral required
