Injured People & Private Clients

You do not need a referral to talk to us

For you

If you have been in an accident, or driving has become something you avoid, you can call us directly. No referral, no waiting for a form to be signed, no need to know which service you need first.

Where people usually start

You do not have to have it figured out

Most people who call Safe2Go are not sure what they need. They know something has changed — they used to drive without thinking about it and now they do not drive at all, or they do and it costs them something every time.

That is enough to start with. Our first conversation is about understanding what happened and what you are finding hard. We work out the right starting point together.

People we commonly work with

  • Drivers, passengers, cyclists and pedestrians involved in a motor vehicle accident
  • People who have stopped driving entirely since a crash, sometimes years ago
  • Those who still drive but with constant anxiety, avoidance of motorways, or panic in traffic
  • Anyone recovering from injury where returning to driving is part of getting life back
  • People whose driving has been affected by a medical condition or a change in function
  • Family members supporting someone in any of the above

What it costs

Paying for treatment

If your accident was a motor vehicle accident in NSW, your treatment may be covered by a CTP (Compulsory Third Party) claim, even if you were not at fault and even if you have not lodged a claim yet. Many people do not realise this. We can explain how it works and liaise with the insurer on your behalf.

If you were injured at work, treatment may be funded through WorkCover. Again, we can deal with the insurer or your case manager directly.

If neither applies, you can engage us privately. There is no referral required and no waiting list to join.

We will always tell you honestly which of these is likely to apply before you commit to anything.

What happens next

From first call to first session

  1. 1

You call or send an enquiry

Phone 1800 867 277 or use the enquiry form. Tell us as much or as little as you want to.

  2. 2

    We talk it through

A conversation about what happened, what has changed, and what you would like to be able to do again. No assessment, no pressure.

  3. 3

    We suggest a starting point

That might be psychological support, an OT driver assessment, or going straight to graded on-road rehabilitation — whichever fits where you actually are.

  4. 4

    You decide

You choose whether and when to begin. If we are not the right service for you, we will say so and point you somewhere better.

An important distinction

We are not a driving school

Safe2Go is not a driving school. We are a specialised rehabilitation service.

If you are learning to drive for the first time and want to pass your test, a driving school is the right choice and will cost you less.

We work with people for whom driving has become a clinical problem rather than a skills problem — where anxiety, trauma, injury, pain or a medical condition is the barrier. Our team includes a registered psychologist, occupational therapists and rehabilitation driver trainers, and we work with all three where needed.

That is a different service, and it is the one that helps when ordinary lessons have not.

FAQs

Commonly Asked Questions

1. Is Safe2Go a driving school?

No. Safe2Go is not a driving school — we are a specialised rehabilitation service. Our team includes a registered psychologist, occupational therapists and rehabilitation driver trainers who work together to help people return to driving after accident, injury, trauma or a medical condition. We do not teach learner drivers to pass a test.

2. What experience do you have?

Safe2Go has over 15 years of experience supporting people living with driving phobia, driving anxiety, PTSD, GAD and adjustment disorder. If we had to summarise our program in one word, it would be freedom.

3. Do you offer psychological services?

Yes. Psychological support is a core part of what we do, and it is available on its own — you do not have to be enrolled in a driving program to see our psychologist. We provide individual therapy for anxiety, trauma, PTSD and post-accident adjustment, available in person, by Telehealth or over Zoom.

4. Do you accept CTP and WorkCover clients?

Yes. We regularly work with:

  • CTP (Compulsory Third Party) insurers and claimants
  • WorkCover and workers compensation matters
  • Case managers and rehabilitation consultants
  • GP, psychologist and allied health referrers
5. What's next?
  • Call 1800 867 277 or send an enquiry and we'll talk through where you're at
  • We match you to the right starting point — psychological support, an OT driver assessment, or graded on-road rehabilitation
  • You progress at your pace, from fear of driving to freedom
